Major David Rankin Hunt, a 30+ year veteran of the Royal Household has been working with the Cayman Islands Government Office to improve Royal relations and communications, including the development of a new Honours system in Cayman. In February Major Hunt travelled to Cayman to observe and evaluate the National Hero’s Day celebrations with a view to advising on a programme to reform the National Honours and Awards Ceremony in the Cayman Islands. Major Hunt will offer expertise and advise on how the Cayman Islands can enhance the existing Honours system.
Major Hunt has also been charged with researching the Cayman Islands involvement in the arrangements in the event of the death of a Royal, and is communicating with the Royal Household to give the Overseas Territories involvement in the celebrations.
