The Overseas Countries and Territories Association (OCTA) held it’s 3rd Energy Summit for Environment Ministers in Brussels this month, this event was attended by Mr Charles Parchment with Minister Hew, Cayman Islands Minister of Environment.
Energy Ministers from Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) and technical advisors contribute to the Summit by increasing awareness about the sustainable energy best practices & opportunities in the OCTs, stimulating commitment to the further development of sustainable energy.
The Summit showcased the potential role that the OCTs can play in the Sustainable Energy transformation of the European Union. The technical workshop, dedicated to Marine Energy, and the policy conference provided opportunities to discuss the most appropriate actions, strategic partnerships and concrete tools for the sustainable energy transformation of the OCTs.
Also participating were Members of the European Parliament, Representatives of the European Commission, the private sector, experts on islands’ energy systems, and other stakeholders.

This month Mr Bush also traveled to Brussels today to meet with the European Commission as well as representatives of Bulgaria and Romania to discuss immigration procedures.
