Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, Minister for the Overseas Territories, visited the Cayman Islands on 30 May 2018 as part of a regional tour to discuss hurricane preparedness and public registers of Beneficial Ownership. He was able to meet the RCIPS Air Operations Unit & see the helicopter which played a vital role helping Turks and Caicos after last year’s hurricanes. This visit is an important step in planning and communications for hurricane preparedness for 2018.
Meetings included Cabinet Members; Leader of the Opposition Hon. Ezzard Miller, JP; Members of the Financial Services Industry to discuss Beneficial Ownership and EU Blackliting Issues.
Meetings about hurricane preparedness and OT disaster support took place at the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) with Minister Rivers, Dani Coleman Director of Hazard Management Cayman Islands(HMCI), Simon Boxall Deputy Director HMCI.
