Each year the Cayman Islands Government Representative attends all of the Party conferences. This year Eric Bush recommended that the highest level of Government should visit with a delegation who should all experience attending a Party conference of the current UK Government, specifically to ascertain the value of attending these at high level in the future.
The visit followed with unanimous Delegation agreement on the great value in attending and participating in the conferences.
Meetings included the following:
- Michael Fallon, Secretary of State for Defence, who was well aware of efforts and assistance Cayman had made for the OTs following the hurricanes and commended Cayman Islands on the efforts to assist in the aftermath.
- Mr Boris Johnson, Foreign Secretary, who gave delegation 45 minutes of time out of his busy schedule in the conference, he greeted the hand of every member of the delegation and promised to be engaged in the upcoming Joint Ministerial Council.
