The UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has spoken at a Downing Street briefing yesterday about England’s further easing of lockdown restrictions from next week. The Prime Minister confirmed that from Monday 17th May, Engalnd will move into Step Three of the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown.
From the 17th May, the majority of the indoor and remaining outdoor economy can reopen, and gathering limits will increase indoors and outdoors.
Guidance for close contact between friends and family will be updated, with people exercising their own personal judgement in line with the risks.
The Transport Secretary has already confirmed that international travel can begin to safely reopen from 17th May, allowing people to go on foreign holidays to ‘green’ list countries.
Step Four is due to take place no earlier than 21st June. Further details on Step Four will be set out at the end of the month.
