It has been an interesting month in Westminster, following UK Government reshuffle.
Overall UK Government reshuffles may not often affect the Cayman Islands directly, however this month sees some significant changes that are of distinct benefit to the Cayman Islands. The Rt Hon. Brandon Lewis MP, member of the Cayman Islands All Party Parliamentary Group and supporter of the Cayman Islands has been made Chairman of the Conservative Party, James Cleverly MP, a great supporter of the British Overseas Territories and friend of the Cayman Islands was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party and Graham Brady, long-time supporter of The Cayman Islands, Chairman of the CI All Party Parliamentary Group and Chair of the influential 1922 Committee, was given a Knighthood. Cheryl Gillan, a friend of the Cayman Islands and longest serving female Conservative Member, has been made Dame Cheryl Gillan MP.
