The Cayman Islands celebrated Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s 92nd birthday in front of the Legislative Assembly building on Saturday 9 June. The ceremony included the traditional parade by uniformed services, a royal salute, 21 gun-salute and three cheers for the Queen. Mrs. Olive Miller was the sole Officer of the British Empire (OBE) recipient. She is recognised for her life long commitment to community services. It was announced that the Deputy Governor Hon. Franz Manderson, will be the newest recipient of the Member of the British Empire (MBE), for his services to the Cayman Islands. Additionally, three young people were presented with the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award; Kimberly Carlos, Daniel Reid, and Lauren Williams.

As part of the Queen’s Birthday Celebration a special exhibition was held in the George Town Library. It highlights the life and service of Mrs. Olive Miller, who received her OBE medal at the service.
