West India Committee

The West India Committee is currently working with the Government of the Cayman Islands to bring a greater understand if the history and heritage of the Cayman Islands. This project is part of a wider campaign to raise greater awareness, knowledge and understanding of history of the Cayman Islands and its links to Great Britain.

The West India Committee is a Royal Charter institution founded in London circa 1735. The Committee’s library and archive has been inscribed by UNESCO as a memory of the World. 

The Committee has now produced materials to be used in the Cayman Islands and in the UK.
