In late November 2025, the Cayman Islands APPG hosted a reception in Parliament.

The APPG acts an important bridge, connecting the Cayman Islands with Parliamentarians in the UK and supports the collaborative, forward-looking relationship between the two countries. Speaking about the reception, Dr Tasha said: “I am truly touched by the overwhelmingly positive response we received at thereception. It was wonderful to see so many MPs and Peers – old friends and new – who had given their time to attend. I know their parliamentary duties are incredibly demanding on their time, and it means so much to us that they chose to come and support the Cayman Islands.

I want to thank Sarah Champion MP for hosting the event and for being such an enthusiastic Chair of the APPG. Her passion for the environment is contagious and we are proud to have her championing the Cayman Islands in Parliament.

On Remembrance Sunday, the Cayman Islands Government Representative to the United Kingdom, Dr Tasha Ebanks Garcia, laid a wreath at the Cenotaph in London, honouring the brave men and women from the Cayman Islands and around the world who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our freedom.

The Cayman Islands had the highest per capita wartime enrollment rate in the world during the Second World War, with around two-thirds of the adult male population volunteering for service — a powerful testament to our people’s courage, loyalty, and sense of duty.

The Cayman Islands stands together with the United Kingdom, Overseas Territories, Crown Dependencies and the Commonwealth in remembering all who served — in times of war, conflict, and peace — and in gratitude for their courage and dedication.

We will remember them.
