Cayman Islands Government Office hours: 9:30am-5:00pm – By appointment only

On Tuesday, 25 November 2025, the Cayman Islands All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) hosted a special reception in the Houses of Parliament to welcome to London the Cayman Islands delegation, led by Hon. Premier Andre Ebanks, who was in the UK for the Joint Ministerial Council (JMC).

APPGs are cross-party groups that bring together MPs and Peers with a shared interest in a specific country or issue. The Cayman Islands APPG serves as a vital platform for raising awareness of Cayman-related matters, supporting informed parliamentary engagement, and strengthening dialogue between UK parliamentarians and Cayman Islands Government representatives.

The November reception brought together MPs, Peers, officials, and friends of the Cayman Islands to welcome the visiting Cayman Islands delegation and to highlight the strong and collaborative relationship between the Cayman Islands and the United Kingdom. Attendees had the opportunity to meet members of the delegation and to discuss key areas of mutual interest.

Reflecting on the event, Cayman Islands Representative to the UK, Dr Tasha Ebanks Garcia, expressed her appreciation for the strong turnout and the depth of parliamentary support:

“I was truly touched by the overwhelmingly positive response we received at the reception. It was wonderful to see so many MPs and Peers—old friends and new—who gave their time to attend. Their parliamentary duties are incredibly demanding, and it means so much to us that they chose to come and support the Cayman Islands.

I want to thank Sarah Champion MP for hosting the event and for being such an enthusiastic Chair of the APPG. Her passion for the environment is contagious, and we are proud to have her championing the Cayman Islands in Parliament. I am also extremely grateful to her office for the extensive support they provided in organising the event.

It was an honour to introduce our Premier and his delegation to so many attendees. The warmth of the welcome and the depth of support shown for the Cayman Islands was truly humbling.”

The reception marked an important step forward in strengthening Cayman–UK parliamentary engagement and underscored the value of the newly re-established APPG as a bridge between both nations.
