Launched in 2021, Cayman Day is an annual celebration delivered by the Cayman Islands Government Office in the UK (CIGO-UK) to bring together Caymanians and friends of the Cayman Islands for an evening of culture, community, and fellowship. Designed with a strong focus on purpose and inclusivity, the event welcomes Caymanian families, students, and friends from across the UK.
Cayman Day 2025 showcased Caymanian heritage through music, food, dance, and storytelling, creating meaningful opportunities for connection, networking, and cultural expression. For many—especially students and second- or third-generation Caymanians—the event provided an important link to home and helped preserve Caymanian identity abroad. It also supported the Government’s commitment to promoting and safeguarding the islands’ culture and heritage beyond its borders.
The 2025 theme, “Under the Red Sky,” celebrated the seafaring spirit that shaped the Cayman Islands, honouring generations of shipbuilders, seamen, turtlers, and navigators, as well as the women who sustained communities and families in their absence. This year’s event featured live performances by Cayman’s local band Heat, captivating storytelling by cultural practitioner Nasaria Suckoo-Chollette, accompanied by Randy Chollette on traditional drums and vocals, and Michael Lemay on steel pan. Guests enjoyed Caribbean cuisine, games, and an evening filled with vibrant Caymanian culture.
Cayman Day 2025 was held on Saturday, 29 November, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at 8 Northumberland, Central London.
